Family Havdalah & Movie Night – October 6th
Special TA & Confirmation Program – October 14th
We will be hosting two special guests, Raz Levin and Hadar Maravent, two Shinshinim who are visiting Pittsburgh for the year. What is a ‘Shinshin’? A “Shinshin” is an 18-year-old Israeli emissary sent by the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency for Israel to communities abroad with the goal of educating people of all ages about Israel and Israeli culture.
Adat Shalom Religious School will be collaborating with these emissaries as we assist the Teaching Assistants in developing and implementing unique Israel programs for our students. On October 14, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, Raz and Hadar will kick off the year with a fun filled afternoon that includes lunch, discussions and games that will teach and inspire the TAs and Confirmation Students to become leaders in the school community.

7th Grade Class Service and Dinner – October 19th
Info Session With Ben Phipps – October 30th
Does your teen need community service hours? Or perhaps you are looking for a way to make a meaningful difference in the area?
Join us at 4:30 pm on October 30th as we welcome Pastor Ben Phipps, from Roots of Faith in Sharpsburg, into the school to share some information about how our congregants can contribute to The Neighborhood Table, a free community dinner hosted three times each month to help provide food to those who may otherwise go hungry.
We are hoping that our teens and families can see this partnership as an opportunity to make a difference in the community (and yes, complete those mandatory community service hours!).
