Members/gardeners Nadine Lehrer and Mike Cochran tended the Adat Shalom garden this summer. They encountered a very aggressive and determined groundhog that helped himself to early crops. Mike has fortified the perimeter and hopes next year’s bounty will be more prolific without interference from groundhogs and rabbits. This fall the Religious School students will help harvest potatoes, beets, tomatoes, corn (for popcorn) and some pumpkins that survived. Interested in getting involved? There is plenty to do now to prepare the garden for winter. Please contact Lisa Rothstein (lrothstein@adatshalompgh.org) or Nadine Lehrer (nadinele99@yahoo.com) to connect, volunteer, donate, plant a tomato seed — or just drop by and say hello.
